53 Ways to Love the Planet This Earth Day

Are you ready to show some appreciation for the place we all call home? Our annual list is back! We’ve included one eco-friendly idea for each year this global day of action has existed. Try a few this weekend and keep going from there. By taking small, consistent steps to lessen our environmental impact, we can make a monumental difference.

 
 

  1. Join a cleanup or beautification event in your community.

  2. Don’t live near an affiliate? Start your own.

  3. Invest in the work we’re doing to improve Georgia’s environment by investing in our Earth Day giving campaign.

  4. Pick up trash while you walk or run.

  5. Make that hiking trail or local park cleaner than you found it by picking up after others.

  6. Sign our pledge against litter. Don’t forget to forward the link to your family, friends, and colleagues!

  7. Make the switch to reusable bags, and keep some in your car so you’re never without.

  8. Use cotton or mesh produce bags to store your produce.

  9. Ditch disposable coffee cups and bring your own mug to your favorite cafe.

  10. Stay hydrated with a reusable water bottle.

  11. Stash reusable utensils in your glove compartment or bike basket for last-minute snack runs.

  12. Go really big with waste reduction and bring your own containers for takeout orders.
